01 — Sourcing
Chosen With Intention, Never Cut for Convenience
We source ethically and responsibly. Every slab that enters the studio comes from wood taken down by termite damage or natural causes — never from trees felled for commercial logging.
We work exclusively with solid wood. No MDF, no veneers, no engineered board of any kind. The species we return to most often:
- Walnut — Akhrot
- Indian Rosewood — Sheesham / Tali
- Acacia — Kikar
- Maple — Chinar
Each species has its own grain, density and character. Knowing how one behaves — with resin, under a seal, over years — is knowledge that only comes from working with it, season after season.
02 — The Kiln
The Wait That Isn't a Delay
Before a single cut is made, every slab enters our solar kiln. We dry our lumber in-house, bringing moisture content down to between 7 and 10% — the range at which wood stabilises and stops moving.

We have clients who have waited months for a chosen slab to season sufficiently before it entered production. Wood that hasn't been properly dried will warp, crack and pull away from resin. It will move inside a finished piece, open gaps, and undermine everything built around it.
We dry in-house specifically so we can monitor every slab ourselves. This is the one step we refuse to outsource — the kiln is where the quality of a piece is decided, long before it reaches the workshop.
03 — The Wood
Every Grain Tells a Different Story
There is no fixed formula — but years of commissions have taught us where each species is happiest.
Indian Rosewood
Golden brown to deep purplish black, with grain that runs straight or wildly figured. Incredibly durable — a natural choice where character is everything.
Best for: large dining tables, bespoke commissions
Acacia
Light and creamy with natural dark streaking. Strong, consistent, and more accessible in price.
Best for: coffee tables, side tables, accent pieces
Maple
Fine, even grain with a pale, clean finish. Works beautifully in contemporary interiors.
Best for: smaller pieces, accent furniture
A note: there is no fixed rule. These are patterns observed over years of commissions — the right wood for your piece depends on its size, your space, and the conversation we have with you.
04 — Resin
Where Wood Meets Its Limits
The only studio in Pakistan working with solid resinWe started where most do — using resin alongside wood, filling voids in live edge slabs. Over time we pushed further. Cosmos Infiniti now makes furniture entirely from resin, with no wood component at all.
Getting here was not straightforward. Resin is one of the most temperamental materials we've worked with:
- Acutely sensitive to temperature — too much heat and it goes limp, loses form, or bleeds pigment
- A rushed pour or an off ratio traps air bubbles that cannot be fixed once cured
- Correct pouring happens in a temperature-controlled, dust-free room, with precision and patience
We've learned every one of these variables the hard way. But the result is worth it: a depth and finish glass cannot match, and a resilience acrylic doesn't come close to. It's a material of unlimited possibility — and we're only continuing to explore what it can become.

Sand, Pour, Cure, Seal
The slab is sanded, the resin poured and cured, sanded again to a silk finish, then sealed. The process is methodical — there is no skipping steps.

Every bespoke commission requires an advance to begin. This covers material procurement and moves your piece into production.
